Why we started

Too many trans and non-binary people hear "welcome" for the first time from strangers online, if they hear it at all. We wanted to build a place that says it clearly, from the very first click: you belong here, as you are.

So we started small: a free welcome card with your chosen name and pronouns, made in a minute, that you can keep private or share with the people who love you.

Who runs TransFam

TransFam is run by a small independent team based in India, working with illustrators and members of the trans community. We're open about this because trust matters more than polish. As we grow, we're bringing more trans people onto the team as paid artists, moderators and contributors.

What we promise

• 10% of monthly profit goes back to trans people, through paid work or donations to established trans-led organizations. We publish the numbers on our Impact page.
• Human-made art only. Paid portraits and avatars are drawn by real illustrators. No AI image generators.
• Privacy first. Your card is made in your own browser. We store your email, your invite code and your orders, and nothing more. Read our privacy policy.
• Free stays free. The Welcome Card and Fam Builder Card will always be free.
• You're in control. Delete your account and data at any time from your dashboard.

What we are not

• We're not a charity or nonprofit. We're a small business that gives part of its profit back.
• We're not a crisis service. If you need help right now, please see our resources page.
• We don't give medical or legal advice. We point you to people who do.
• We don't verify anyone's identity. No one has to prove who they are to belong here.
