Privacy Policy

Who we are

TransFam (thetransfam.com) is a small independent business. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean TransFam. You can reach us at hello@thetransfam.com.

What we collect

• Email address, so we can send you a sign-in link and order updates.
• Invite information: your personal invite code, and which member accounts joined through it (used only to unlock your Fam Builder Card).
• Card usage flag: a simple yes/no that you created a card, used for our public "cards created" counter. We never receive what's on your card.
• Orders: the product you bought, the price, the order status, and the description you write for the artist.
• Reference photos you choose to upload for an order. Only the artist working on your order sees them, and they're deleted automatically 7 days after delivery.
• Stories you submit, with the nickname you choose. Only published if you give permission and we approve them.
• Contact messages you send us through the contact form.

What we never collect

• The chosen name, pronouns, emoji or message on your card
• Your legal name, birthday, home address or government ID
• Your card or bank details (payments are handled by our payment partner, not us)
• Advertising or cross-site tracking data. We don't use ad trackers.

Cookies

We use two small, essential cookies and nothing else:

• tf_session keeps you signed in for up to 30 days.
• tf_ref remembers which invite link you arrived from, for up to 30 days, so your friend gets credit if you join.

Security and abuse prevention

To stop bots and abuse, our hosting provider processes your IP address when you use forms. We store only a scrambled (hashed) version for rate limiting, and delete it within a day.

Who helps us run TransFam

• Cloudflare hosts the website, database and private file storage, and provides our bot check (Turnstile).
• Resend sends our emails (sign-in links, order updates).
• PayPal processes payments. When you pay, you share your payment details with PayPal directly, under their privacy policy. We receive only the payment confirmation.

We don't sell or rent your personal information to anyone.

How long we keep things

• Account data: until you delete your account.
• Sign-in links: expire after 20 minutes and are removed within a day.
• Reference photos: deleted 7 days after your order is delivered.
• Delivered artwork: kept so you can download it again, until you delete your account.
• Basic order records (product, price, date) may be kept without your email for accounting and tax purposes.

Your choices and rights

• Delete everything: go to My Fam and press "Delete my account".
• See or correct your data, or remove a published story: email us and we'll help.
• Depending on where you live (for example California or other US states), you may have additional rights. Contact us and we'll honor them.

Age

TransFam is for people aged 13 and older. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has signed up, please contact us and we'll delete the account.

Changes

If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, let members know by email.
